A new, young talent joins the Cat for Lunch imprint: Julian del Valle from Switzerland (having already been released on Monique Musique) graced the label with his beautifully crafted four track - Take it Hard E.P.

As we pushed through the Alps to the other side, he greets us with four delicious new tracks, each on their own unique, but united by the same carefully mixed genius. Heaps of style, but not categorisable by a single genre: hints of minimal, disco bass, a plane of deep, smattering of synth lines, and chopped vocals.

The opening track, Enfants is a upbeat house based track, with a nice use of high-hats, overlaying a sublime bassline, all backed up with the subtle use of sample vocals - overall a nice little chugging track.

Next up is Axis, the tracks starts with a great little sample that's use throughout, it's got a few quirky synth parts which just add to the quality of the track, it's a definite track to slip into house set.

Meanwhile, Horses - starts as it's means to go on, upbeat, thumping, with a driving bassline and balanced composition along with a mind-blowing drop.

To finish the release is Gossip - it's a smooth and hypnotic tune, sure to be a floor filler, based on classic house sounds that attract you to the dance your socks off.

Overall a fantastic release from Julian del Valle and nice to see him join the Cat for Lunch imprint, well worth adding to any collection.

Beats for Breakfast, Cat for Lunch.
