CMOS brings twisted Acid House to Apollo Music with 'Silicon' EP

US producer CMOS, aka Pete Aleman, has been making music since the early 90’s with previous releases under the guise of Cuban Pete, on popular labels such as Dufflebag and Vista. Under his new moniker CMOS, Pete brings the analogue business to Apollo Music Group with the 'Silicon' EP.

Kicking off the release with ‘TR Trax’, we have a perfect re-creation of the early Chicago acid house movement. This track has a winding 303 line that morphs throughout the cut and classic drum programming that truly mimics the warehouse sound developed on early Trax Records by Armando and Phuture.

Next up is The Outfit remix of ‘Let’s Work’. Our very own here at work, throwing more Chicago flavor on the Silicon release. The drum work on this remix has all the classic 808 and 909 goodness, with an acid line that twists, turns and filters throughout the mix. Straight nasty.

Closing out the release we have ‘Beat Street’ which is a bonus drum track. The programming here is excellent with a lot of movement, using the same vintage drum machines, heard in ‘TR Trax’. This beat is perfect for layering with accapellas or bridging other tracks in the mix and is quite a nice bonus to this release.
