For the next release on his Dirty Knock label, DJ Godfather goes back to his roots with the ‘This is Detroit EP’ as he revisits the original ghetto tech sound of Detroit.

The punchy opener, ‘Hell No’ featuring Good Money is the perfect place to start, while ‘Let’s Jit’ with its sped-up tech stylings has all the hallmarks of that original Detroit club sound. Closing with ‘Whatcha Got’ featuring Six Foe, these are three tracks set firmly for the floor.

DJ Godfather is considered one of the founding fathers of the genre we now know as Ghetto Tech. With the formation of Twilight 76 with partners DJ Dick and Brian Gillespie, he took his talent and turned it into an entire business creating 3 other labels known as Databass Records, D.E.T.

Only and Juke Trax (a label dedicated to the Chicago style of Ghetto House and Juke music). With all 4 record labels combined, Godfather and his partners have released over 250 vinyl releases and mix CD releases, selling over 800,000 units worldwide.

Gritty, raw and bang on the mark, one of the founding fathers of the genre shows you how it’s done.

It’s time to get your jit on;

1. ‘HELL NO’ FEAT. GOOD MONEY
2. ‘LET'S JIT’
3. ‘WHATCHA GOT’ FEAT. SIX FOE
