Tensnake streams Special Request remix of 'Pressure' [Listen]

Tensnake has been making waves in the Electronic music scene over the past few years, widely known for his popular 2010 song 'Coma Cat'. Seemingly effortlessly managing the elusive feat of marrying classic disco and house influences to a contemporary sound, Marco is in that very rare position where his music appeals equally to the biggest dance floors, from Ibiza and Miami, and real chin-stroking aficionados. All of which has gained him a solid reputation as a producer’s producer. Up next from Tensnake, following this year's acclaimed debut album Glow, is a remix of 'Pressure' from Paul Woolford's jungle-infused Special Request project. The original, featuring vocalist Thabo, was one of the highlights of Glow, which found the German DJ/producer further exploring the sublime, disco-infused house sound he's become famed for. Special Request transforms the track into a characteristically rough and raucous garage shuffle, driven by ghostly bleeps and a delirious, warping bassline. The remix is released via Beatport and Spotify from 3rd August. It's also a propulsive highlight of Tensnake's upcoming contribution to Pete Tong's mix series, All Gone Pete Tong & Tensnake Ibiza 2014. Tensnake's full CD-length mix also finds him drawing for new tracks from artists including Basement Jaxx, Bicep, Duke Dumont and Barker & Baumecker, and will be released through Defected July 20th. Born in Hamburg in 1975, Marco grew up listening to disco, soul, boogie, funk and 80s pop. As he grew older he went through a brief Mod phase before finding and embracing more dancefloor-inspired influences from Larry Levan to Junior Boys Own, Romanthony to Masters of Work. After starting the Mirau label with friends in 2005, Marco’s first record was "Around The House". He made his commercial recording debut on the Mirau label with his Restless EP in 2006, which he followed up with I Say Mista in 2007. In addition, he released EPs on the labels Players Paradise (Dust, 2007), Radius Records (Fried Egg, 2007), and Endless Flight (Keep Believin’, 2008).
